The Labour Court recommended that County Cork Vocational Education Committee write to a teacher to clarify whether his prior UK teaching service qualified for incremental credit and whether Department of Education and Skills circulars covered his earlier pension service. The recommendation was signed on 19 July 2012. The teacher, employed by the VEC since 2001, raised issues about the County Cork School of Music’s status, pay and arrears, travel expenses, and pension entitlement. The Court made no recommendation on the school’s status, pay or travel expenses, saying those issues had been dealt with in Circuit Court proceedings. It said the pension issue from 2001 to 25 August 2006 had not been clarified and recommended that the VEC address it in writing.
