The Labour Court recommended that Louth Leader Partnership, the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union re-engage to agree payroll savings of €84,000 in the current financial year. The recommendation was signed on 8 May 2012. Management had proposed redundancies and a 10% pay cut after funding fell, while the unions opposed the cuts and cited earlier redundancies and frozen increments. The Court said funding had fallen by 34%, and possible savings measures included voluntary redundancy, unpaid leave, a shorter working week or a flat or progressive pay reduction. Talks were to conclude within three weeks.
