The Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept Keeling's Distribution Limited’s offer of a 2% pay rise from January 2013 for Ballymun workers, if employees of the company’s major customer received an increase. The recommendation was dated 6 July 2012. The union sought a 6% increase, progression for workers on revised starting rates and additional service leave. The Court maintained its earlier position against the 6% claim, found no reasonable basis to materially change the 2010 starting-rate agreement, and recommended resolving service leave as agreed at conciliation. It recommended negotiations on an incentive scheme linking payments to increased output and productivity, with a review after at least 12 months. Keeling's Distribution was also to pay each affected worker €350 once, provided the recommendation was accepted and an agreement settled all outstanding issues.
Labour Court recommends €350 payment for Keeling's Distribution workers
