The Labour Court recommended that Basf/Ibc Admixture Systems Ltd pay four former workers two weeks’ pay per year of service on top of their statutory redundancy entitlements. The recommendation was signed on 3 July 2012. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought enhanced terms, saying the company had departed from industry practice and the workers’ long service warranted an ex-gratia payment. Basf/Ibc Admixture Systems Ltd said it had treated them consistently with other affected staff and could not fund an enhanced package. The Court considered both sides and recommended the additional payment.
