The Labour Court recommended that Ronan Lawless Trading As Forster Court Hotel pay €15,000 to a worker who was not rehired after the hotel closed for renovations. The recommendation was signed on 22 May 2012.

The worker, represented by the Communications Workers' Union, said she believed she was on temporary lay-off and would return to her job. The union said she had suffered financial loss and sought compensation. The employer told the Court it would make no submission and would not attend the hearing.

The Court accepted the worker's uncontested account, finding that the employer had failed to follow normal procedures before ending her employment and had led her to expect re-employment. It recommended €15,000 compensation in full and final settlement of all claims.
