The Labour Court recommended that Grafton Merchanting ROI Ltd restore its redundancy offer in a dispute with a worker represented by SIPTU. The recommendation was dated 13 March 2012. The worker had more than 29 years’ service and was made redundant in February 2011. SIPTU said he was entitled to 95 weeks’ redundancy under terms negotiated in 2008. The company said a 2009 agreement replaced those terms with a package capped at €80,000. The Court recommended restoring the offer in the company’s letter of 10 June 2011 and that the worker accept it in full and final settlement.
