The Labour Court recommended that the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union and Mandate accept Roadstone Wood Ltd management’s proposal to reduce the absolute deductions for excessive absenteeism in line with the reduced value of the attendance bonus. The recommendation was signed on 28 February 2012. The Court also recommended that the proposed reduction to the tool-money element proceed, with management and the unions discussing any related issues and management replenishing the relevant workers’ tool bank. The current bonus payment arrangements were to remain for 2012, with further discussions over possible changes.
