The Labour Court recommended that An Post implement its amended offer on an interim basis for new Frontline Supervisor posts, following a dispute with the Civil, Public & Services Union. The recommendation was signed on 6 February 2012. The union objected to performance-related pay and said the proposed flexitime arrangements were presented on a take-it-or-leave-it basis. An Post said it had made concessions on flexitime and needed its pay proposals to run an efficient service. The Court recommended reviewing the terms after 12 months’ experience and making adjustments if needed for internal fairness and comparison with relevant roles elsewhere.
