The Labour Court recommended that Unite agree to Kraft Foods Ireland Limited’s proposal to move clerical and administrative staff from four-weekly to monthly pay. The recommendation was signed on 1 February 2012. Kraft Foods said it needed one payroll system after acquiring former Cadburys Limited and moving clerical and administrative functions to Coolock. Unite argued that members’ financial commitments were based on four-weekly pay and suggested temporary adjustments or a move to weekly pay. The Court said the company should provide affected staff with assistance on financial matters and record Unite’s agreement in writing as a concession for future negotiations.
