The Labour Court recommended that Temmler Ireland Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union agree to reasonable overtime for planned production, with as much notice as possible and at least 24 hours’ notice. It also recommended that overtime rates apply to consolidated rates, including basic pay and the appropriate shift premium, and that the parties devise a rota for weekday overtime. On the Christmas shutdown, the Court recommended that the union accept management’s right to assign annual leave or flexitime days as needed. The Sunday-night shift premium issue had been withdrawn. The recommendation was signed on 17 October 2011.
