The Labour Court recommended that the HSE and INMO establish a working party to consider implementing the Butler report on nursing and midwifery education centres. The Department of Health should be invited to participate, and the working party should complete its work within six months of being established. The dispute followed earlier agreements on transferring pre-registration nursing education to the third-level sector. The INMO also sought reconsideration of options offered to nurse teachers in 2002, including early retirement. The recommendation was signed on 4 October 2011.
