The Labour Court recommended that the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union accept Labour Relations Commission proposals on flexi-time for staff at Grade VII and below. The recommendation was signed on 12 September 2011. After the Local Government Computer Services Board merged with the Local Government Management Services Board, management revised flexi-time arrangements, including removing the system for Grade VIII staff and above. The union opposed the changes. The Court upheld management’s decision to remove Grade VIII staff from flexi-time, while recommending that proposals for those staff also be accepted, retaining some flexibility around start and finish times while providing management cover.
