Labour Court recommends Dunnes Stores investigate worker’s roster and lifting complaints

The Labour Court recommended that Dunnes Stores investigate a worker’s complaints about changed roster hours, late shifts and a transfer to a department where she had to lift heavy flour without the assistance given to her predecessors. The recommendation was signed on 5 September 2011. The worker, represented by Mandate, said her established roster was changed without agreement and she was uniquely required to work two late evenings a week. Dunnes Stores did not attend the hearing, so the Court had only the information in the worker’s submissions. It recommended restoring her agreed roster if the complaint was confirmed, treating her like her peers if the late-shift claim was confirmed, and advising her of the outcome of the investigation into the lifting complaint and any corrective action.
