The Labour Court recommended that Britvic Ireland Ltd and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union resume conciliation talks over a disputed shift premium. The recommendation was signed on 10 August 2011. The union sought a 20.5% day and evening shift premium, saying its members had received 23.5% for almost ten years. The company said the agreed rate was 17.5% and the higher payment had been an error. Because the parties disputed how long the higher rate had been paid, the Court recommended they establish the facts in conciliation. It said the union's 20.5% claim should not be conceded.
