The Labour Court recommended that the dispute over Wyeth Nutritionals Ireland’s Lean Labs Programme at its Askeaton plant return to conciliation, with proposals to be finalised by 31 August 2011. The recommendation was signed on 27 July 2011. The dispute involved 74 Laboratory Staff represented by Unite. Union members had rejected proposals developed through consultation, citing concerns including possible compulsory redundancies, confidence in the plan and three new non-laboratory roles. The Court recommended that trials begin once the proposals were finalised, with outstanding issues reviewed afterward.
