The Labour Court did not recommend retrospective payment of wage increases withheld from a worker at Dublin City Council who had not switched salary payments to Paypath. The recommendation was signed on 13 July 2011. The Court said the worker knew the increases were conditional on using Paypath, so it could not recommend backdated payment. Dublin City Council was prepared to pay the increases once he adopted Paypath. The Court noted he may not have been told the conversion deadlines and asked the Council to establish whether its failure to provide that information caused the problem. The worker had said confusion and a change of address contributed to missing notices.
