The Labour Court recommended that Brinks Allied Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union appoint Tom Wall as an independent arbitrator to settle outstanding issues over proposed changes to security work at the Intel site. Brinks said the changes were intended to cut costs, avoid redundancies and maintain contracted hours. The union said they would affect working conditions and reduce regular rostered overtime. The Court said the issues needed further refinement and recommended that Wall issue a binding determination within four weeks, using his 30 October 2009 determination as background. The recommendation was signed on 24 June 2011.
