Labour Court recommends job evaluation in Hasbro promotion dispute

The Labour Court recommended that a Hasbro Ireland Limited worker’s current job be evaluated after the company failed to advertise a Senior Bobst Operator position. The recommendation was dated 14 April 2011. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union brought the dispute on the worker’s behalf. Hasbro Ireland Limited accepted that its failure to advertise breached its agreement with the union, but said the appointed operator was the right candidate for the Grade D post. The Court recommended that an agreed independent external person chair the evaluation. If the worker did not pursue it, the matter could return to the Court for a decision on compensation.
