The Labour Court recommended a one-off €2,000 payment for each HSE South staff member whose commute fell outside a 45 km radius after the move from Heatherside Hospital in Buttevant to Heather House in Cork City. The recommendation was dated 15 April 2011. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union raised concerns about travel costs and time, redeployment and exit options. The Court also recommended two extra days of annual leave in each of 2011 and 2012 for transferring staff, and that management seek approval for an early retirement or voluntary exit package. The Court recommended that the unions cooperate with management on redeployment criteria and that management notify them promptly of any opportunities.
