The Labour Court recommended a once-off €200 payment to second-year casual employees at Bord Na Móna under the agreed formula for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. The recommendation was dated 28 March 2011. For casual employees recruited from the 2011 season onward, it recommended accepting Bord Na Móna’s proposal to pay a time rate in their second year. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had accepted time-rate pay for first-year employees but opposed extending it to the second year. The payment for the 2010 season was due within four weeks of the recommendation, while the payment for the 2011 season was due at the end of that season.
