Labour Court recommends union accept Cork on-call allowance offer

The Labour Court recommended that the Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union accept Cork University Hospital’s offer to pay revised on-call and call-out allowances to the hospital’s perfusionists retrospectively from 1 June 2010. The union sought the rates applied to perfusionists in Dublin and Galway. The hospital said Cork perfusionists were receiving the correct allowance, but offered to apply the Dublin rates from June 2010. The Court found that offer fair and reasonable in its recommendation, signed on 18 March 2011.
