The Labour Court recommended that Johnson Manufacturing Ltd apply its enhanced redundancy agreement to the workers covered by the claim. The recommendation was signed on 4 March 2011. The agreement provided for statutory redundancy terms plus three weeks per year of service and the rebate payable to the company. The workers had been made redundant but received statutory terms only. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said Johnson Manufacturing had signed a clear agreement and should follow it. Johnson Manufacturing did not attend the hearing or communicate its position to the Court. The Labour Court said the agreement was clear and recommended that its terms be applied to the claimants.
