The Labour Court recommended that Johnson Manufacturing Limited honour its agreement to pass a 60% statutory redundancy rebate to workers made redundant in June 2008. The recommendation was signed on 1 March 2011. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said the company had agreed in writing to pass on the rebate it received. The Court found that the agreement covered the rebate, that other terms had been implemented, and that the rebate had not been paid. It recommended that the agreement be honoured and the rebate paid to the workers associated with the claim. Johnson Manufacturing did not attend the hearing or communicate its position.
