The Labour Court recommended that the Civil Public & Services Union accept An Post’s proposals on back-office modernisation, subject to changes. The recommendation was signed on 12 January 2011. The union sought a continuing 16% allowance for staff transferring to the CCB and the ability to work up to 19 flexi days. An Post opposed the allowance, citing the risk of related pay claims, and said it could facilitate up to 10 flexi days while meeting contract requirements. The Court recommended seniority-based allocation of early morning attendance, an opportunity to work up to 10 flexi days a year, and limiting the proposals to CCB and NTMA operations.
