Labour Court says Cork curators should handle billing queries without an allowance

The Labour Court recommended that Cork County Council curators handle billing queries as part of their normal duties, without an allowance. The recommendation was signed on 29 October 2010. Cork County Council and Services Industrial Professional Technical Union disputed whether curators should follow up on billing queries after meter reading was outsourced. The union argued the curators should be paid if they took the work on; the Council said the queries were already part of their job descriptions. The Court found the work appropriate to the curator grade and the refusal to undertake it unreasonable.
