The Labour Court recommended that Allied Security Network Limited pay a worker €10,000 compensation and transfer him back to his original work location. The recommendation was signed on 27 October 2010. The worker had been transferred from Marino Point to a site in Mallow after a power failure and possible break-in. The employer did not attend the hearing but sent a written submission, which the Court considered. The Court said that after 32 years at the same location, the transfer could only be regarded as a disciplinary sanction. It found the worker was denied fair procedure in the transfer decision and the investigation of his grievance.
