The Labour Court recommended that the HSE appoint a worker to a permanent Dental Assistant post in Mayo PCCC and pay her €20,000 compensation. The recommendation was signed on 26 October 2010. The worker had accepted a temporary Dental Surgery Assistant posting at Ballina Dental Clinic while its permanent incumbent was away. The Court found the HSE later withdrew the posting without consulting her or explaining why, then failed over a prolonged period to address her grievance meaningfully. The HSE said internal matters prevented her from remaining in the temporary post and that it had offered her a suitable vacancy. The Court recommended a permanent post effective from 6 October 2010. It also recommended €15,000 for pecuniary loss and €5,000 for distress.
