In a recommendation signed on 1 September 2010, the Labour Court found that Chubb had treated an emergency response driver unfairly by dismissing him without adequately warning that his job was in jeopardy. Chubb said the worker had received more training than other staff, but his performance did not improve despite further training and management support. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said he lacked training in some aspects of the role and had not been told that his job was at risk. The Court recommended that Chubb offer a €2,000 compensatory payment and that the union accept it in full and final settlement of the claim.
