Labour Court recommends enhanced redundancy package for Best School Completion Project worker

The Labour Court recommended a redundancy lump sum equal to six weeks’ pay per year of service, inclusive of statutory terms, for a worker made redundant by the Best School Completion Project (Ballymun). Implementation depended on the employer receiving funds from its funding agency. The recommendation was signed on 6 August 2010. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union (IMPACT) sought the enhanced package. Management said it had paid the statutory entitlement but lacked funding to improve it. The Court recommended that both sides approach the funding department together to seek the resources needed to implement the package.
