The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Irish Nurses Organisation’s claim for compensation over the removal of free meals for night nurses at St Mary’s, Drumcar. The recommendation was signed on 31 May 2010. St. John of God Hospitaller Services said new arrangements provided subsidised meals and that other unions had accepted them without compensation. The Irish Nurses Organisation maintained that free dinners had long been a condition of employment. The Court considered both sides’ submissions.
