The Labour Court recommended that Loughnane Concrete Limited pay three workers one week’s pay per year of service, on top of their statutory redundancy entitlements, in full and final settlement of their claim. The recommendation was signed on 21 May 2010. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought extra payments for the three workers, whose redundancies were compulsory, while six other employees left voluntarily. The company said its financial position allowed it to pay only statutory redundancy. The Court recommended the additional payment.
