Labour Court recommends HP CDS recognise union for bargaining

The Labour Court recommended that HP CDS (Ireland) Limited recognise HP CDS Staff's representative, Irish Bank Officials' Association-The Finance Union, for collective bargaining on behalf of its members. It also recommended that the company and HP CDS Staff agree a bargaining and dispute-resolution framework. The recommendation was signed on 12 May 2010. The union said 13 staff who transferred from Hewlett-Packard were members and their terms and conditions had been diluted. HP CDS said it preferred direct communication with staff. The employer did not attend the hearing but gave its position by letter, which the Court considered.
