Labour Court recommends conceding union's enhanced redundancy claim

The Labour Court recommended that Quarryvale Community House CDP concede the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's claim for three weeks' pay per year of service, on top of statutory redundancy, for three workers. The project was funded solely by the Department of Community, Rural & Gaeltacht Affairs, which declined additional redundancy funding. The employer said it would concede the claim if it had the funding. The Court said the parties should jointly approach the Department to seek funding for the recommendation. It was dated 6 May 2010.
