The Labour Court did not recommend conceding the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for independent expert reviews of five unsuccessful promotion appeals at University College Dublin. The recommendation was signed on 19 April 2010. The Court recommended that the union pursue wider changes to the promotion appeals process with other interested unions, first taking any proposed reforms to the university locally and then using normal industrial relations channels if needed.
