The Labour Court rejected a National Bus & Rail Union (NBRU) claim for negotiation rights for supervisory grades at Iarnrod Eireann in a recommendation signed on 18 March 2010. The Court said promoted workers could be represented in negotiations by TSSA and SIPTU, which already held rights for the grades, while retaining access to the NBRU on individual matters. It said the NBRU could discuss the issue with TSSA and SIPTU; Iarnrod Eireann indicated it would consider the matter further if they agreed.
