Labour Court recommends credit union recognise union for bargaining

The Labour Court recommended that Donnycarney Beaumont District Credit Union Ltd recognise the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union for collective bargaining on future industrial relations matters. The recommendation was signed on 4 March 2010. The union sought recognition to negotiate employment terms on behalf of its members. Management declined to attend the hearing and said the credit union handled employment matters internally and was not prepared to negotiate with the union. The Court also recommended initial discussions to establish a framework for future industrial relations and negotiations.
