The Labour Court recommended that Reox Holdings Limited concede the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union's claim after finding that the proposed relocation of two long-serving IT employees created a de facto redundancy situation. The recommendation was signed on 5 November 2009. The employees, based in Mallow, disputed proposed jobs at Cork Airport Business Park, saying the positions were uncertain and the move would add up to three hours to one worker's daily journey. Reox said the jobs were genuine and offered a trial period. The Court said the distance between the existing workplace and the new location made the union's claim reasonable and recommended that it be conceded.
