Labour Court recommends renewed talks on Maybin cleaning hours and redundancy terms

The Labour Court recommended that Maybin Support Services T/A Momentum Support and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union urgently resume talks on reducing cleaning hours at Portiuncula Hospital in Ballinasloe. The union sought enhanced redundancy terms for the 30 Workers, while the company said it needed to reduce hours to keep the contract viable. The Court recommended that any redundancies resulting from the talks should have terms in line with those recently paid in the sector. The recommendation was signed on 9 October 2009.
