The Labour Court recommended an independent review of Nursing Allocation Officer posts at the Institutes of Technology, with the parties to agree on an expert to carry it out. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union also sought action on Health and Safety Officer roles. The Court recommended a joint union-management group examine the roles and determine how their functions should be graded, recognising that responsibilities differed between institutes. The exercise was to be completed before the end of 2009. The recommendation was signed on 3 September 2009.
