The Labour Court recommended an independent review of the duties performed by Science and Arts Attendants at the National Museum Of Ireland, after the Cpsu disputed the assessment criteria for incremental credit. The Museum said applicants had to meet an 80% comparison of duties and that three of 21 applications met the criteria. The union argued that the attendants’ security and visitor-safety work supported their claims. The Court said previous service had to involve comparable duties, authenticated claims and relevant public-service experience. It recommended that an agreed independent examiner rank the job’s duties by the end of October 2009, with the assessment then used to apply Circular 16/2005. The recommendation was signed on 18 August 2009.
