The Labour Court recommended that G4S Security Services (Irl) Ltd move 900 Dublin-region security workers to fortnightly pay, with a €200 wage advance repayable over 10 weeks. The recommendation was signed on 17 August 2009. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought compensation for the change from weekly pay and opposed cutting the unsocial-hours premium without compensation. The Court did not recommend reducing the shift payment without compensation, and said the sides should negotiate if the company was prepared to discuss a compensatory payment.
