The Labour Court recommended that Donegal Co. Council eliminate over 18 months a pay differential between seven Area Managers on administrative grades and their technical-grade counterparts. The Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union said the managers did the same work as technical-grade colleagues but received less pay. Donegal Co. Council acknowledged the anomaly and said it needed departmental approval to change pay scales. The Court recommended parity from the recommendation date but did not recommend retrospection or compensation. The recommendation was signed on 8 June 2006.
