The Labour Court recommended that Phelan Vintners Ltd T/A The Rising Sun offer €2,000 to a worker unfairly dismissed without a chance to respond to complaints about him. The worker was represented by the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The Court said the worker should have been told the nature and seriousness of the complaints and given an opportunity to respond before dismissal. It recommended that the employer offer the payment and that the worker accept it in full and final settlement. The recommendation was signed on 25 May 2009.
