The Labour Court recommended that Work Area Managers at An Post’s Dublin Mail Centre receive an additional 2% on the Composite Premium Allowance already paid, raising it to 21% for the period from May 2003 to 24 February 2007. The recommendation was signed on 7 May 2009. The Communications Union (Cwu) had claimed the allowance was incorrectly calculated at 19% in 2002 and corrected to 24.5% in 2007. An Post said the allowance had been freely negotiated and that the later revision reflected changes in rosters and staff numbers.
