The Labour Court recommended changes to a survival plan proposed during a dispute between Bulmers Limited and UNITE and SERVICES INDUSTRIAL PROFESSIONAL TECHNICAL UNION. The recommendation was signed on 11 May 2009. The Court recommended reducing the proposed basic pay cut from 5% to 2.5%, reducing two-cycle shift pay from 22% to 20% and three-cycle shift pay from 26% to 24%, and extending the pay freeze to 1 June 2010. It also recommended guaranteeing a €1,000 first-year incentive payment for Supply, based on a business-unit profit target, and that the company pay for up to six GP visits a year. The plan followed an announcement of 103 redundancies at the Clonmel site. The unions had rejected a conciliation proposal before the dispute went to the Court.
