The Labour Court recommended that Meath Co. Council give nine workers affected by a relocation one extra day’s annual leave in the 2009/2010 leave year. The recommendation was signed on 14 April 2009. The Irish Municipal, Public and Civil Trade Union had sought compensation for extra travel costs and time after the Council’s Community, Enterprise, Recreation, Culture and Heritage section moved from Navan to Ashbourne. The Council said relocation was covered by employment contracts and a mobility agreement, and had offered an extra day’s leave. The Court considered the offer fair and reasonable and recommended granting the day to the affected workers.
