The Labour Court recommended that night dispatch team members at Musgrave Fonthill Depot work 1,800 hours a year and receive lump sums based on their service on permanent night shifts. Workers who had been on permanent nights since 2002 were to receive €4,000; those since 2004, €1,750; and workers who transferred to day shifts in 2005 or 2006, €1,250. The recommendation, signed on 12 March 2009, followed a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union over an alleged difference in hours between night and day shifts.
