The Labour Court recommended vouchers of €150 and €250 for employees facing redundancy as Jacobs Fruitfield Food Group Limited prepared to close its Tallaght operation, with the loss of 220 production jobs. The recommendation was signed on 19 February 2009. The Court set out different voucher terms by redundancy date. Employees made redundant between the end of January 2008 and 1 September 2009 were to receive €150 vouchers. Those made redundant from 1 September to 1 December 2008 were to receive €250 vouchers. Employees made redundant in 2009 were to receive a €250 voucher and 50% of their service days. The dispute between Jacobs Fruitfield and Unite/SIPTU/B&Fwau also covered profit share, service days and an on-site surgery. Before the hearing, the company made an offer the unions were prepared to recommend.
