The Labour Court recommended an initial payment of 70% of the base figure for overtime compensation at Glanbia (Inch), followed by later calculations based on actual overtime. The recommendation was signed on 18 November 2008. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought upfront compensation for lost overtime and extension of an annual special payment to all 50 workers. Glanbia (Inch) said overtime would fall but could not be quantified in advance because it would remain necessary for operational demands. Compensation for overtime loss was to be calculated at 1.5 times the loss, with later payments based on overtime totals. The Court also recommended phasing the annual special payment to 50 employees, with the full payment from 2011.
