The Labour Court recommended premium payments for Bon Secours Hospital nurses assigned to the Surgical Day Ward for Saturday National Treatment Purchase Fund work. The recommendation, signed 14 November 2008, followed a dispute with the Irish Nurses Orgainisation. The union sought the same premium paid to theatre and endoscopy nurses doing Saturday NTPF work. The hospital argued nurses could be rostered for six days and that extra pay could prompt further claims and make the work uneconomic. The Court recommended equivalent premium payments for the Saturday work.
